COVID-19 – 2,766 Indonesians overseas infected

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Data from the Foreign Affairs Ministry on Tuesday show that 24 Indonesians overseas are infected with the COVID-19, bringing the total cases to 2,766.

Of the 24 new cases, 16 were reported in South Korea, three in the United Arab Emirates, two in Britain, one in Brunei Darussalam, one in the Maldives, and one in the Vatican.

In addition, one more Indonesian in Britain died of the COVID-19, bringing the total deaths overseas to 168.

Meanwhile, 1,934 Indonesians abroad have recovered from the COVID-19, or 70 percent of the total confirmed cases, and 664 others are still under medical care.

Statistics on Tuesday (Jan. 12) show the number of positive cases in Indonesia increased by 10,047, while 302 patients died.

With those figures, the total number of cases in the country becomes 846,765 with 24,645 deaths.

A total of 695,807 patients have recovered, while 126,313 are still being treated.
