Clean Energy Ministerial forum launches Biofuture Platform Initiative

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – An international forum focusing on the promotion of clean energy, the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM), launched the Biofuture Platform Initiative in a series of the 11th CEM meeting held virtually on Wednesday (Sep 16).

The Clean Energy Ministerial is a high-level global forum to promote policies and programs that advance clean energy technology, to share lessons learned and best practices, and to encourage the transition to a global clean energy economy.

The Biofuture Platform Initiative aims to increase international ambition and advance the production, trade and use of sustainable bioenergy globally through analysis, policies, programs and projects, according to a statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources received by Indonesia Window here on Friday.

The Biofuture Platform Initiative will be implemented in close partnership with the private sectors.

Bioenergy is a huge potential in the renewable energy sector and one of the most labor intensive energy industries.

The initiative is essential to achieving the low-carbon energy system, and promoted to be the core of every economic recovery plan.
