Cianjur, West Java (Indonesia Window) – The Al Quran Waqf Agency, locally known as BWA, has again inaugurated the clean water facility waqf project in Indonesia’s Mangunkerta village, Cianjur district, West Java province.

BWA Program and Fundraising Director Heru Binawan said here on Thursday that the facility inaugurated by his party on Friday (Dec. 22, 2023) was the 52nd clean water facility project.

“Mangunkerta village is a village affected by the Cianjur earthquake on November 21, 2022. At the time of the earthquake, the clean water source in Mangunkerta disappeared, so we drew water from the spring from Ciburial village. Alhamdulillah, with the waqf from the BWA wakif we can help the residents of Mangunkerta village,” Heru noted.

Also present at the inauguration ceremony were Mangunkerta village head Ira Rismayati and local community leaders.

According to Heru, the BWA iron water project in Mangunkerta village was carried out by pulling a 300-meter pipe and making tubs and installing submersible pipes.

After the pipe withdrawal is complete, clean water can flow and the benefits are immediately felt by the community.

“A sense of happiness is felt by the beneficiary community. May the kindness of the wakif be repaid by Allah SWT (subhanahu wa ta’ala).. Aamiin,” Heru added.

Meanwhile, Mangunkerta Village Head Ira Rismayanti expressed her gratitude for the construction of a waqf for clean water facilities by BWA in her village.

According to her, the project is very beneficial for its residents.

“I would like to thank all ranks of BWA who have helped provide the clean water facility so that the benefits are very large felt after handling the earthquake. The more the water flows, the blessings are conveyed to the those who have donated,” she said.

Before inaugurating the clean water project, BWA had also inaugurated the WAfP (Water Action for People) project in Damkasipahu hamlet, Doropeti village, Pekat sub district, Dompu district, West Nusa Tenggara province.

It was inaugurated on Wednesday (Dec. 13, 2023) by the BWA team led by Program Director Heru Binawan.

In the project, BWA pulled 7,6 kilometers of HDPE pipes from the water source to be able to drain them to Damkasipahu hamlet.
