First, we (Indonesia Window) would like to thank Dr. (H.C.) Prita Kemal Gani who has given us a book about her exclusive, inspiring and interesting biography.
Likewise, we congratulate Ibu Prita on the success in establishing the London School of Public Relations (LSPR), which has now turned into the LSPR Institute of Communication & Business. Hopefully this educational institution would continue to grow and be useful for the people and the country of Indonesia.
We also extend our congratulation to Ms. Asteria Elanda for making this very inspiring book, ‘PRITA KEMAL GANI. 30 Years As an Educator. Multi Roles in Being a Leader, a Public Relations Figure, a Wife and a Mother.’
(original Indonesian title: ‘PRITA KEMAL GANI. 30 Tahun Sebagai Pendidik. Multi Peran Menjadi Pemimpin, Tokoh Humas, Istri dan Ibu’)
About the book
We have previously made a review about the physical matter of the book including the cover as well as the way the book was written and enriched with eye catching photos.
After watching, observing and reading the book, Indonesia Window saw the book as very impressive because it tells the story of an Indonesian female figure who excels in the field of public relations not only at home but also abroad. This is because this inspiring figure has built networking since she started her career in this field.
In the book, Prita Kemal Gani gives messages that are very easy to understand because the author, Asteria Elanda, uses simple language making us very comfortable enjoying every page of this biography, from the beginning to the end of the book.
In the biography, Prita, who graduated from the John Robert Powers school of personality, tells and shares her experiences starting from the challenging times since she was studying, working in a company engaged in the fitness business to seeking capital to build a public relations course.
As she was persistent in realizing her goals as an educator and public relations figure, Prita, a mother of three children – Ghina Amani Kemal Gani, Fauzan Kanz Kemal Gani and Raysha Dinar Kemal Gani – said that she did not have any lover until she was 26 years old, and finally she found a partner that she thought was right for her. The man was the chief editor of a periodical mass media, SWA magazine. Finally, at the age of 27, Prita married her lover, Kemal Efendi Gani.
No wonder that they were then successful in building their business, as both of them go the same line in building a business in the public relations sector considering that Prita as a public relations expert and Kemal as a journalist share the same interest of professions in giving messages or information to the public.
Prita shared that she really loved her family, especially her mother, Tity Sudaryono, who always supported and encouraged her to become a successful person as an educator like her father, Sudaryono. Prita also succeeded in becoming an entrepreneur like her mother. Two areas that have led Prita to success both as an entrepreneur and as an educator in the field of public relations.
Prita shares many public relations tips in the book based on her experience, including that regarding education which she considers as a very valuable investment in human life, especially for the younger generation, as well as advices about entrepreneurship that she is engaged in, starting from the way of looking and behaving, hospitality and networking.
However, there is one touching thing in the story of Prita who admired a figure of a teacher, namely when she realized that her daughter, Raysha Dinar Kemal Gani, suffers from the autism spectrum.
“It is like being struck by lightning. I was hit hard. I am called a public relations expert in the field of communication, but in fact, one of my children has difficulty communicating,” she said.
Yet, after going through a long process, Prita was able to be on the same frequency as Raysha. “Raysha is the jewel of my life and the best teacher. We managed to communicate. Raysha teaches me a higher language of communication, which is the language of love,” she said.
After going through the ups and downs, Prita, who has appeared as a speaker on many occasions both at home and abroad, continues to lead the LSPR Institute of Communication & Business by obtaining various awards both nationally and internationally, one of which is an Honorary Doctorate Award in the field of Public Relations given by Coventry University, a prestigious university in England, on November 15, 2021.
Currently LSPR Jakarta, which also owns LSPR E-Learning, has 20,000 graduates and 6,536 active students, including those from the United Arab Emirates (Dubai and Abu Dhabi), Taiwan and Korea.
The book ‘PRITA KEMAL GANI. 30 Years As an Educator. Multi Roles in Being a Leader, a Public Relations Figure, a Wife and a Mother’ (buku ‘PRITA KEMAL GANI. 30 Tahun Sebagai Pendidik. Multi Peran Menjadi Pemimpin, Tokoh Humas, Istri dan Ibu’) has also received endorsements (supports) from several national figures, ranging from government officials, entrepreneurs, to celebrities.
With the above descriptions of the review, we conclude that this book is worth reading, especially for those, including the younger generation, who are interested in the field of public relations.
Considering that Prita Kemal Gani is widely known as a public relations figure both at home and abroad, we suggest that this biography be translated into foreign languages, especially English.
Warm greetings from Indonesia Window
