Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The arrival of a delegation from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Thursday (Sept. 21), marked a historic milestone in the journey of Al-Wafi Islamic Boarding School in Indonesia towards becoming an international Islamic school.

“The visit of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia is one of important moments in the history of Al Wafi. This is a clear proof that we have achieved a level of international recognition in the education sector,” the leader of Al-Wafi Islamic boarding school, KH. Dr. Ali Saman Hasan said.

We are very grateful for this visit and hope to continue to build closer cooperation with UKM,” Dr. Ali remarked in his statement quoted by Indonesia Window on Tuesday.

The UKM delegation was represented by the Head of Heet (Higher Education English Test) Dr. Nur Ehsan Mohd Said, Project Manager HEET Dr. Rosnah Mohd Sham, and Research Assistant HEET Ncik Wan Muhamad Shahlan Wan Masri.

HEET (Higher Education English Test) is an instrument to measure English language skills for Al Wafi students. This is the result of collaboration between Al Wafi and UKM.

If a student passes HEET, he or she will sit in the 3rd semester of UKM.

“The purpose of the test is to measure students’ English competency,” Dr. Nur Ehsan Mohd Said, on that occasion, expressed his gratitude to the Islamic boarding school for their welcome.

The discussion between the two delegations focused on efforts to improve education through collaboration between the two institutions.

According to Dr. One of Ali, one of the goals is to make Al Wafi an international Islamic school that combines Islamic principles with higher education of international standard.

This meeting creates a valuable opportunity to share knowledge, experience and best practices in the education sector. The meeting included discussion of teaching methods, curriculum, higher education, language centers and educational research.

Through this meeting, Al-Wafi Islamic Boarding School was able to interact directly with representatives from UKM, opening up further educational cooperation among others on student exchanges and joint study programs as well as undergraduate higher education.

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia is one of the leading universities in Malaysia and is internationally known for its academic excellence.

This collaboration is a clear evidence that Al Wafi continues to go international in achieving global level education standards. (Suworo)
