Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Dutch government will provide three million doses of ready-to-use COVID-19 vaccine for Indonesia.

“In my talks with the Dutch foreign minister, one of the concrete results was the Dutch government’s decision to donate vaccine to Indonesia in the amount of three million doses of ready-to-use COVID-19 vaccine,” said Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi in a written statement received here on Friday (July 2).

The aid was discussed by Foreign Minister Retno in a meeting with Dutch Foreign Minister Sigrid Kaag in The Hague on Thursday (July 1).

There is no definite schedule for the delivery, but the vaccine will be sent in the near future.

In addition to the COVID-19 vaccine assistance, the two foreign ministers also explored the possibility of similar cooperation for therapeutic drugs.

“On the discussions related to the health cooperation, I will continue to coordinate with the Indonesian Minister of Health,” Minister Retno stated.

Therapeutic is a drug needed to treat a disease, such as cyclosporine and tacrolimus for immunosuppression; methotrexate and cytotoxic agents for anti-cancer; and medicines for anti-depressant.
