Indonesia, UAE discuss efforts to enhance bilateral partnership

The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, and Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto have discussed efforts to strengthen the partnership between the two countries.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, received the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, in Kertanegara, Jakarta, Thursday (Jan. 30).
The meeting between the Indonesia president and the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of UAE was a strategic step in strengthening the partnership between the two countries, the Indonesian Cabinet Secretariat said in a written statement as quoted by Indonesia Window on Thursday.
In his statement after the meeting, Indonesia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sugiono, said that the meeting was held to follow up on various cooperation agreements that already have a legal umbrella between the two countries.
In addition, the meeting was to ensure that the implementation of the cooperation runs according to the agreements that have been made.
“So he (Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei) came here to follow up on the agreements and follow the details of the developments,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
According to Sugiono, the cooperation discussed includes a number of strategic sectors including energy and housing, as well as other sectors.
“There are many. There is energy. There is housing,” he continued.
Sugiono said that President Prabowo did not give specific instructions to his staff, however, the President emphasized the importance of implementing all agreements optimally and finding immediate solutions if there are obstacles in their implementation.
There is nothing special, but he asked us to implement all agreements as well as possible. Then if there are problems, find solutions as soon as possible,” he added.
The visit reflects the increasingly close relationship between Indonesia and the UAE, as well as a shared commitment to creating mutually beneficial cooperation in various strategic fields.
On the occasion, President Prabowo was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Fahri Hamzah, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Hashim Djojohadikusumo.
Meanwhile, the UAE delegation accompanying Minister Suhail was the UAE Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri.
