Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesia’s coffee exports reached 206,700 tons from January to June 2025, the Indonesian Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) announced on Wednesday (Oct. 8).

The coffee was shipped to various destinations, including the United States (US), Japan, and countries in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Indonesia is one of the world’s largest coffee producers, with plantations covering approximately 1.2 million hectares, with more than 90 percent managed by smallholder farmers,” the ministry’s Deputy for Medium Enterprises Bagus Rachman explained.

One recent highlight was the shipment of 15 tons of Arabica coffee from 568 farmers on the slopes of Mount Argopuro in East Java Province to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry has launched an MSME holding program in plantation clusters to build an integrated supply chain ecosystem connecting micro, small, medium, and large enterprises, enabling key commodities like coffee to achieve higher added value.

Statistic Indonesia (locally known as its abbreviation BPS) reported that Indonesia’s coffee export value in 2024 reached 1.63 billion U.S. dollars, a 76.3 percent increase from the previous year.
