Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Saudi Arabia’s General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques on Sunday (June 19) launched its operational plan for this year’s hajj season.
The presidency confirmed its readiness to receive 1 million worshipers from around the world by mobilizing 10,000 male and female officers to serve the pilgrims, according to a written statement received here on Monday (June 20).
Head of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais said that the presidency has launched smart applications and electronic platforms that facilitate and enhance the worshipers’ experiences, noting that the number of beneficiaries of this digital services had reached more than 160 million.
Sheikh Al-Sudais further said that the presidency has prepared 144 gates for pilgrims to enter the Grand Mosque in Makkah, including the King Abdulaziz Gate, King Fahd Gate and Bab Al-Salam Gate.
In addition, the presidency will distribute 3 million bottles of Zamzam water daily in the Grand Mosque, and 1 million bottles of Zamzam water in other holy sites.
The presidency had implemented the highest standards of environmental protection in the services provided in the Two Holy Mosques.
“Thank God, it was confirmed that the two Hajj seasons for the past two years were free from any epidemic cases inside the Two Holy Mosques, noting that the environment of the Grand Mosque was the most sterilized worldwide,” he said.
In addition, the presidency has also prepared 2,000 electric vehicles for the elderly and disabled with 500 engineering staff members ready to work.
The presidency will also broadcast the sermon on the day of Arafa, which is the peak of the hajj pilgrimage, in 10 languages to spread Islam more widely to all people around of the world.
