Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneurs Community launches ASEAN Halal Pavilion, strengthening regional halal industry

ASEAN Halal Pavilion provides three flagship products, namely Halalholidays.asia, an e-commerce portal that offers Muslim-friendly holiday packages in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and China; NilaiMart.com, an e-commerce portal for halal products produced regionally; and Halal Logistics, an aggregator of land/sea/air logistics service providers that comply with halal principles.

 

Tangerang, Banten (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneurs Community (locally known as its abbreviation KPMI) in collaboration with Tahira Group from Malaysia, Halal International China (Hong Kong and Macau), and the Thai Muslim Producers Association, launched the ASEAN Halal Pavilion on the sidelines of the Muslim LifeFest 2024, here on Friday.

The international event is being held simultaneously with two other events, namely Muslim EduFest and Jakarta Halal Expo and Conference (JHEC), at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in Tangerang city, Banten province, from August 30 to September 1, 2024.

“Developing the halal economy and industry in the ASEAN region and the world requires collaboration and synergy, to produce concrete and actionable steps,”  the Head of the Central KPMI, Rachmat Sutarnas Marpaung, said in his speech at the launching event.

On the same occasion, the President Director of Indonesia Travelmart, Hafiz Gatam, said that the ASEAN Halal Pavilion platform was created to help business players in the ASEAN region meet the increasing demand for halal products, both regionally and globally.

“With this platform, we are further strengthening ASEAN’s position as the center of the world’s halal industry,” he said.

The ASEAN Halal Pavilion provides three flagship products, namely Halalholidays.asia, an e-commerce portal that offers Muslim-friendly holiday packages in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and China; NilaiMart.com, an e-commerce portal for halal products produced regionally; and Halal Logistics which is an aggregator of land/sea/air logistics service providers that comply with halal principles.

“By joining halal producers and service providers from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand in one integrated platform, we are determined to meet the needs of the increasingly broad halal market,” Hafiz said.

The Master Card Crescent Ratings report states that for the past two years, Indonesia and Malaysia have jointly ranked at the top of the ‘Muslim-Friendly Global Destination List’.

Collectively, the ASEAN region has proven to be the most attractive destination for Muslim travelers.
