Indonesia terminates access to 15 gambling online applications, sites

The latest verification by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology showed that there are 15 electronic systems organized by six Electronic System Operators which supposedly facilitate online gambling services.

 

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Web sites or online applications that contain elements of gambling will certainly be subject to strict actions in the form of consistently severing access or blocking by the Indonesian government.

It was confirmed by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Johnny G Plate here on Tuesday (Aug. 2).

“So far we have blocked 534,183 gambling contents found on internet sites since 2018. This shows our strong commitment to the eradication of online gambling,” he said.

Plate pointed out that the latest verification by his ministry showed that there are 15 electronic systems organized by six Electronic System Operators which supposedly facilitate online gambling services.

The ministry has confirmed that it has have taken actions against dozens of electronic systems that contain violations of the criminal law.

The 15 electronic systems containing gambling elements that were blocked on Tuesday (Aug. 2) were Domino Qiu Qiu, Topfun, Pop Domino, MVP Domino, Pop Poker, Let’s Domino Gaple QiuQiu Poker Online Game, Steve Domino QiuQiu Poker Slots Online Game, Higgs Slots Domino Gaple QiuQiu, Ludo Dream, Domino QiuQiu 99 Boyaa QQ KIU, Domino Gaple Boya QiuQiu Capsa, Poker Texas Boyaa, Poker Pro.id, Pop Big2, and Pop Gaple.

The minister explained that the Electronic System Operators carrying out online gambling activities violate Law Number 11 of 2008.

“The government calls on all elements of the society to jointly fight online gamblings which will certainly harm the society,” he stated.

According to the ministry, the Electronic System Operators are any persons, state administrators, business entities, and people that provide, manage, and/or operate electronic systems individually or jointly to electronic system users for their own needs and/or needs of other parties.
