Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah advises pilgrims to avoid carrying large amounts of money during hajj

The hajj pilgrims are encouraged to carry only what they need and to pay for services in advance through approved platforms and electronic payment methods.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has recently advised pilgrims to avoid carrying large sums of money during their hajj trip. Instead, they are encouraged to carry only what they need and to pay for services in advance through approved platforms and electronic payment methods. In a series of posts on social media, the ministry shared advice on managing finances for the hajj trip to prevent issues related to carrying excessive amounts of cash. The posts emphasized the importance of prepaying for services, estimating additional expenses beforehand, and relying on electronic payments. The ministry highlighted that Saudi authorities have created a financial system that collects all fees and service costs in advance, including accommodation, transportation, and round-trip tickets. This system is designed to minimize the need for carrying large sums of money, thus reducing the risk of financial fraud and distractions that could interfere with worship. These recommendations are part of an international awareness campaign launched by the ministry in 15 languages, using both digital and traditional media, and in coordination with Islamic centers and leaders. The campaign aims to educate pilgrims about hajj regulations to ensure smooth and proper performance of rituals and avoid performing them without a hajj visa.Reporting by Indonesia WindowBagikan
