The COVID-19 pandemic has shed light on the fact that the disease transcends national borders and could affect anyone, regardless of skin colors, ethnicities, languages, or genders.

Distrust, disagreement and lack of transparency among countries would accelerate the spread of the virus.

Only when the countries of the world could help each other and share information, expertise, and anti-pandemic vaccines could the world overcome pandemics more quickly and successfully.

The Global Police Goals approved by INTERPOL member states in 2017, stated aims to create a safer and more sustainable world.

With this mission in mind, we should work together to fight crimes, just as we join forces to fight a pandemic.

No police agency nor any country is exempted from fighting cybercrime. Effectively improving global cybersecurity requires global cooperation.

Taiwan needs world supports. Taiwan is willing and able to help the world by sharing its experiences.

As the whole world works together to fight the pandemic, we urge the international community, with the same spirit, to support Taiwan's efforts to attend the INTERPOL General Assembly as an observer this year, and participate in INTERPOL meetings, mechanisms and training activities.

Taiwan's pragmatic and meaningful participation will help make the world a safer place for all.
