Indonesia officially joins the Board of Peace, which is part of the 20-point peace plan designed by the United States to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and support the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was one of the world leaders who signed the Board of Peace charter on Thursday (Jan. 22) in Davos, Switzerland.

The signing of this charter marks the beginning of the Board of Peace (BoP) as a new international body formed to oversee the transition, stabilization, and reconstruction process in the post-conflict Gaza.

Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono in his statement in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, on Friday (Jan. 23), said that Indonesia's participation in the Gaza Board of Peace is a form of Indonesia's commitment to the Palestinian peace efforts through an international body.

According to him, one of the main agendas of the Indonesian president is the signing of the Board of Peace charter, which is a continuation of the long process of dialogue and meetings of a number of countries, especially Islamic countries and those with Muslim-majority populations regarding the situation in Palestine.

“The signing of the Board of Peace charter is part of the process that we have been doing so far in order to resolve the conflict, achieve peace and resolve the conflict and post-conflict rehabilitation in Palestine, Gaza in particular,” the foreign minister said.

According to Sugiono, the agreement to establish the BoP was born from a shared determination to involve the international community more concretely in order to achieve permanent peace in Gaza.

The discussions then continued until the meeting in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, which became the momentum for the signing of the Board of Peace charter, the minister added.

\"Actually, the Board of Peace is an international body, now officially an international body tasked with monitoring administration, stabilization, and also rehabilitation efforts in Gaza in particular and in Palestine,\" he explained.

Sugiono further said Indonesia saw it important to join as from the beginning it has consistently supported international peace and stability, especially for Palestine.

Although the process of forming this body took place relatively quickly, President Prabowo decided for Indonesia to be part of the BoP after considering various strategic aspects.

\"From the beginning, we have been a country that cares about peace, international stability and especially the situation in Palestine. Because this Board of Peace is part of the effort to achieve peace, we must be in it,\" the minister stressed.

The decision was also taken through intensive consultations with countries that are members of the Group of New York. The Foreign Minister revealed that a number of countries agreed to join, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, and Indonesia.

\"Two days before the signing, everyone agreed to join the Board of Peace,\" he said, while believing that the BoP's existence is a long-awaited concrete step in overseeing the Palestinian peace process. The presence of these countries is expected to ensure that every step taken remains oriented towards Palestinian independence and the realization of a two-state solution.

The foreign minister emphasized that the BoP is not intended to replace the role of the United Nations (UN). \"This body is not intended to replace the UN. It is an international body born out of concern for creating peace and stability, especially in Gaza. Therefore, we must participate in these efforts; Indonesia has decided to join,\" Sugiono expounded.

The Board of Peace was initially proposed as part of a 20-point peace plan drafted by the United States to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and support the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Germany has recently stated not join the board in its current form, while Canada canceled its participation after Trump withdrew its invitation.

The issue of Palestine resurfaced and further strengthened Muslims, after previously declining, following the arrival of Tufan Al Aqsa in 2023.

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The current condition in Palestine has caused a sharp turn in history, Dr. Ahed Abu Al Atta, Director of Yayasan Persahabatan & Studi Persaudaraan (YPSP/Friendship & Brotherhood Studies Foundation), has said about the issue of Palestine.

DR. Ahed made the remarks at the conference under the theme ‘Ramadan Unites Us/Palestine and Indonesia One Heart,’ at the Hajj Dormitory in East Jakarta on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

Before the genocide in Gaza, Israel, the colonizer, consistently carried out actions to stop the issue of Palestine to prevent it from spreading further, Dr. Ahead said.

After the arrival of Tufan Al Aqsa in 2023, the issue of Palestine resurfaced and further strengthened Muslims, after previously declining, Dr. Ahed said, adding that Tufan Al Aqsa also changed the strategic direction of the zionists.

According to Dr. Ahed, the zionist occupation continues to do its utmost to prevent the ceasefire from being implemented by withholding relief aid, closing borders into the region, and harassing fighters and humanitarian workers in Gaza.

\"And the aggression carried out by the zionists, along with the United States, against Iran is not solely unrelated to Palestine,\" he pointed out.

He cited as an example, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made a decision, determined to destroy all humanitarian programs to alleviate the suffering of the people in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli zionists already know they are losing in Gaza, they cannot win against the fighters in Gaza, so they are seeking a new perspective, seeking a new platform by attacking Iran to expose themselves, and creating the impression that Israel is winning against Iran because they have failed against the fighters in Gaza,\" he expounded.

According to him, one of Israel's goals in carrying out aggression against its surrounding countries, including Iran, is to realize its plan to annex large areas of the Middle East.

“And this aggression and suffering is not only felt by our brothers and sisters in Gaza, but also by all Palestinians everywhere due to the zionist occupation, including those in the West Bank. There, the occupation has established checkpoints to inspect Palestinians who are being treated unfairly,\" he explained.

Similarly, Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site for Muslims, also suffer occupation, he said, explaining that the Israeli zionists continue to suppress Al-Aqsa Mosque, oppress the people there, and the zionists want to eliminate all operations that support Palestine.

Once they carry out the ‘Judaization’ of Al-Aqsa, as they did some time ago, a ritual that desecrates the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, they also carry out daily attacks the Muslim holy place of worship, Dr. Ahed continued.

He revealed that their actions against Palestine have at least three goals. First, forcibly evicting the Palestinian people from their land.

Their third goal is the ‘Judaization’ of Al-Quds and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and they plan to build a temple called the Temple of Solomon, which, according to Dr. Ahed, constitutes a desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

\"Therefore, based on these three points, measures must be taken to counter this vicious zionist movement. At the very least, we must isolate and abandon the zionists by whatever means we can,\" he said.

As is now apparent, global politics is beginning to shift. European countries, such as the Netherlands, which were initially pro-zionist, are starting to back away one by one, he noted.

They are abandoning the zionists, who are constantly killing people in Gaza, violating human rights, violating the fundamental rights of the people, and killing people indiscriminately, he added.

According to him, Palestinian fighters always follow existing regulations, human rights regulations, and international regulations in accordance with established principles.

Unlike the zionists, who consistently betray and violate existing agreements, Palestinian fighters act with a single goal: to safeguard the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Once again, the YPSP director welcomed the attendees at the solidarity meeting for Palestine and reminded them that Indonesia and Palestine share one heart.
