This revenue grew 16.8 percent year-on-year (yoy) compared to that in the same period in 2020 of 1,160 trillion rupiahs (about 81.8 billion dollars), which was down 13.6 percent compared to that in September 2019, the minister said at an online press conference here on Monday (Oct. 25).

She pointed out that the state revenue consisted of the tax revenue of 850.1 trillion rupiahs (some 59.9 billion dollars), the customs and excise of 182.9 trillion rupiahs (some 12.9 billion dollars), and the non-tax state income of 320.8 trillion rupiahs (some 22.6 billion dollars).

In detail, the tax revenue of 850.1 trillion rupiahs is 69.1 percent of the state budget target of 1,229.6 trillion rupiahs (about 86.7 billion dollars), which is an increase of 13.2 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year of 750.6 trillion rupiahs (about 52.9 billion dollars).

Meanwhile, the customs and excise revenue of 182.9 trillion rupiahs (some 12.9 billion dollars) is 85.1 percent of the state budget target of 215 trillion rupiahs (some 15.1 billion dollars), and is able to grow 29 percent from that of the September 2020 period of 141.8 trillion rupiahs (some 10 billion dollars).

\"The customs and excise revenue is still growing, driven by the positive trend of import duties, increasing excise duties, and the convincing performance of export duties,\" she said, adding that the growth in the customs revenue was driven by import duty growth of 13.7 percent and was influenced by the trend of the national import performance which continues to increase.

The excise duty which grew by 15.1 percent was driven by the effectiveness of the tariff adjustment policy and supervision of the Gempur operation as well as the improvement of the national conditions during the pandemic, especially with the opening of some tourist sites.

The Gempur operation is an effort to optimize excise duty as a fiscal instrument in controlling excisable goods in accordance with laws and regulations so as to prevent potential leakage of the state revenue.

Meanwhile, the export duty grew by 910.6 percent, driven by increased exports of copper commodities and high prices of palm oil products.

Furthermore, the non-tax state income in September 2021 amounted to 320.8 trillion rupiahs (some 22.6 billion dollars) or 107.6 percent of the target of 298.2 trillion rupiahs (some 21.03 billion dollars).
