Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesia’s electrification ratio in 2020 reached 99.20 percent, with an increase in the household sector of 14.85 percent in the last six years.

In 2021, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is targeting the electrification ratio to reach 100 percent, according to a written statement received by Indonesia Window here on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the country’s additional power plants reached 2,866.6 megawatts (MW); power transmission increased by 2,648 circuit kilometers; and additional substations of 7,870 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA).

In addition, the distribution of electricity network also increased by 27,434 circuit kilometers, and the addition of substations distribution reached 2,590 MVA.

At the end of 2020, per capita electricity consumption in Indonesia reached 1,089 kilowatt hour (kWh) or 95 percent of the target set in the 2019 National Medium Term Development Plan of 1,142 kWh.

The target was slightly missed due to the COVID-19 pandemic which caused electricity consumption in the industrial and business sectors declined throughout 2020.

Meanwhile, the National System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) was only 12.72 hours/customer/year, which was over the target of 15 hours/ customer/year.

Meanwhile, the National System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI) was only 9.25 times/customer/year, or over the target of 10 times/customer/year.
