
Indonesia urges representatives to promote infrastructure investment

Infrastructure investment needs a lot of funds, and thus the Indonesian government invites all parties, including foreign investors, to participate in the infrastructure procurement in the country.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Director General of the Asia Pacific and Africa of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdul Kadir Jailani, said that from now on, this archipelagic country needs infrastructure investment with very big funds.Therefore, the Indonesian government invites all parties, including foreign investors, to participate in the infrastructure procurement in Indonesia, Abdul Kadir Jailani said in a written statement received here on Sunday.The director general conveyed matters related to infrastructure investment in his opening remarks on the workshop about the use of the PPP (Public Private Partnership) Book on Marketing of the Government and Business Entity Cooperation Projects in Jakarta on Wednesday (Nov. 2)."As an agent of the Indonesian government, Indonesian representatives abroad need to play a role of bridging potential foreign investors with persons in charge of the government and business entity cooperation projects," he said.To play this role, according to the director general, Indonesian representatives abroad should have an understanding of opportunities for foreign investors to develop infrastructure in the country through the government and business entity cooperation projects.The workshop brought together experts from various related fields as resource persons, namely Sri Bagus Guritno, Director of Development Funding for Development of the Ministry of the National Development Planning Ministry; and Novie Andriani, an expert from the ministry.Other resources persons were Fikry Cassidy, Head of the Center for Facilitation of International Partnerships and Cooperation at the Ministry of Transportation; Agus Sulaeman, Director of System Development and Strategy for the Implementation of Financing at the Ministry of the Public Works and Public Housing; and Rahardjo Siswohartono from the Ministry of Investment.Reporting by Indonesia WindowBagikan
