Wiraraja University, Foreign Ministry sign MoU on education, research

Wiraraja University Rector Sjaifurrachman said the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) aims to improve the performance and quality of education.

 

Sumenep, East Java, (Indonesia Window) – Wiraraja University (Unija) and the Foreign Policy Strategy Agency of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation on education, research and community services.

According to a press release received by Indonesia Window, the signing of the memorandum of understanding took place at the university’s multifunctional building Graha Sumekar Unija in Sumenep district, East Java province, on Tuesday (May 30).

Wiraraja University’s Rector Sjaifurrachman said the signing of the MoU aims to improve the performance and quality of education.

“In an effort to improve the performance and quality of education, it is necessary to cooperate with the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” he said in his speech.

Sjaifurrachman expressed his hope that the signing of the MoU can be followed up on concrete programs between Unija and the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“So that both parties can synergize and provide mutual benefits to each other. Of course, it also benefits the people of Madura (an island in East Java) in the fields of education and others,” he hoped.

The Head of the ministry’s Foreign Policy Strategy Agency, Yayan Ganda Hayat Mulyana, agreed with the expectations of Unija’s rector, saying in the future, his party is expected to organize activities that are beneficial to both parties.

“This memorandum of understanding is very important for us, especially to raise local potentials,” he noted.

Through the MoU that has been signed together, Yayan said, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will try to elevate Sumenep and Wiraraja University to an international level in the development of education, research and community service.

This collaboration is also part of the ministry’s efforts to win insights on regional potential to be developed besides promoting materials and important elements in the preparation of foreign strategies and policies.

He also expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome of the organizing committee and Wiraraja University. “Not only was he warmed by meals, but also by heart-to-heart conversations,” he concluded.

The signing activity was attended by different parties including lecturers, Uinja’s rector and vice rector, the head of the ministry’s Foreign Policy Strategy Agency, and the Head of the ministry’s Center for Asia Pacific and Africa Policy Strategy, Muhammad Takdir SH.
