The family consists of a husband and wife and their two children, as well as a mother, who are residents of the Villa Nusa Indah 1 housing complex, Indonesia’s Bogor district, West Java province.
The evacuation of the family was carried out using a rubber boat because their house was submerged in floodwaters more than one meters high, following heavy rains that poured over Capital Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) from Monday (March 3) to Tuesday (March 4), according to a statement by the head of the SAR team, Nawawi, received by Indonesia Window in Bogor, Wednesday.

The Villa Nusa Indah 1 housing complex is one of the areas affected by flooding in Bogor district. Several reports said that flooding swept away almost the entire Jabodetabek area.
In addition to evacuation, the SAR team also helped the residents of the housing complex clean their homes from mud carried by the flood. The SAR team also helped clean the As Salam mosque in the housing complex, which was also affected by the disaster.

Other assistance distributed by the SARSIP team to residents impacted by the flood was food packages for breaking the fast (ifthar), as many as 300 packages, which were managed by the As Salam mosque and the Mu’adz bin Jabal mosque.
Emergency disaster response activities are a regular agenda of LAZ SIP which are carried out by the SAR team, in collaboration with residents and local authorities.
All SAR team activities in helping people affected by disasters are supported by contributions from donors who have distributed aid funds through the LAZ SIP.
