Tangerang, Banten (Indonesia Window) — Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, together with Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, officially opened the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2025 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang district, Banten province, on Wednesday (Oct. 15).
The annual international trade exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, carries the theme ‘Discover Indonesia’s Excellence: Trade Beyond Boundaries’, as a showcase of Indonesia’s superior products in the global market.
The government is confident that Indonesia’s trade policy is on the right track.
In his remarks, Coordinating Minister Zulkifli Hasan, representing President Prabowo Subianto, emphasized that national trade policies are moving in the right direction.
“As of this month, Indonesia’s export value has grown by more than seven percent compared to that of last year, with a trade surplus reaching 29 billion USD. This is an extraordinary achievement resulting from the hard work of all stakeholders,” he said.
Meanwhile, Minister Budi Santoso reported that the 40th TEI features 1,619 exhibitors and 8,045 buyers from 130 countries. The exhibition is divided into three main zones — food and agriculture, manufacturing products, and services and lifestyle — with a total transaction target of 16.5 billion U.S. dollars.
“TEI is a concrete realization of the President’s vision called ‘Asta Cita’ (the national development programs) to strengthen industrial downstreaming and expand Indonesia’s role in the global supply chain towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” he stated.
In addition to the main exhibition, TEI 2025 also presents supporting programs such as business matching, business counseling, and international business forums.
The event is also held in conjunction with Pangan Nusa Exhibition at the same venue, featuring various culinary products from across Indonesia. The exhibition serves as a showcase for national food entrepreneurs to expand cooperation and penetrate global culinary markets.
During the opening ceremony, Minister Budi presented the Primaniyarta Awards to outstanding exporters and regional leaders who have contributed to the increase of Indonesia’s export value.
He also presented the Primaduta Awards to loyal buyers and Indonesian representatives abroad for their significant roles in promoting Indonesia’s non-oil and gas exports.
The opening ceremony was attended by several national figures, including Minister for MSMEs Maman Abdurrahman, Minister for Village Development Yandri Susanto, Governor of Banten Andra Soni, and Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Anindya Bakrie.
International guests included Timor-Leste Deputy Prime Minister Fransisco Kalbuady Lay, Yemen’s Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Salem Mohamed Ahmed Salman, and Egypt’s Investment Authority Chairman Hossam Heiba, along with several ambassadors from fellow nations.
Minister Budi expressed his appreciation to all parties supporting the success of TEI 2025, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kadin Indonesia, and major sponsors such as Bank Mandiri, Indonesia’s oil and gas enterprises of Pertamina, and Indonesia’s Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS).
“With the spirit of collaboration and optimism that we build together, Indonesia will continue to strengthen its position as a highly competitive global economic power,” he concluded.
