Indonesia presents 3 featured pavilions at CAEXPO 2025 in China

The 22nd CAEXPO is expected to attract direct cooperation at the provincial and district levels, with the presence of Indonesia’s local governments at the annual exhibition.

 

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesia is ready to participate in the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (the 22nd CAEXPO) from September 17-21, 2025, at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center (NICEC), Nanning, China.

This time, Indonesia is presenting at the 22nd CAEXPO with a new, larger and more strategic concept, presenting three featured pavilions: the Commodity Pavilion, the National Pavilion, and the Artificial Intelligence Pavilion.

A total of 84 Indonesian business actors from various sectors will participate in the exhibition, according to the Indonesian Ministry of Trade on ​​its website on Tuesday.

The Director General of National Export Development at the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, stated that the country’s participation in CAEXPO 2025 is a concrete manifestation of its ongoing efforts to increase exports and attract strategic investment.

“Indonesia’s participation in CAEXPO 2025 is a strategic step to showcase national potential, boost exports, and attract investment from regional trading partners. This year, we are expanding our participation and expanding into new sectors that demonstrate the progress of Indonesia’s digital economy,” Puntodewi said.

She is optimistic that this year’s participation would yield more significant results than in previous years. “We are confident that this effort would open up more concrete opportunities for national businesses,” she said.

Several businesses taking part in the exhibition include PT Rahayu Alam Arto with coffee products, Jember Fashion Carnaval with fashion products, PT Inti Alam Andalas with spices and seafood products, PT Metro Impex Makmur with various coconut derivative products, and PT Amora Walet Indonesia with bird’s nest products.

Meanwhile, Miftah Farid, Director of Primary Product Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, who also led the Indonesian delegation to this year’s CAEXPO, explained that the main focus of participation is to provide the broadest possible platform for Indonesian exporters to reach international markets.

He stated that this year, Indonesia is highlighting artificial intelligence (AI) as one of Indonesia’s new economic strengths.

Miftah hopes that the presence of Indonesia’s local governments at CAEXPO 2025 would encourage direct cooperation at the provincial and district levels.

CAEXPO is an annual exhibition born out of the China–ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA) agreement and serves as a key platform for promoting cooperation in trade in goods, investment, tourism, and technology between China and ASEAN member countries.

China is Indonesia’s largest trading partner. Over the past five years (2020–2024), trade between the two countries has shown a positive trend, growing by 15.63 percent.

In 2024, total trade between Indonesia and China reached 136.59 billion US dollars. This value consists of Indonesia’s total exports to China of 62.74 billion dollars and Indonesia’s total imports from China of 73.85 billion dollars.

Meanwhile, in the January-July 2025 period, total trade between the two countries reached 83.87 billion dollars, with Indonesia’s exports to China recorded at 35.90 billion dollares and Indonesia’s imports from China at 47.97 billion dollars.
