Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – She is not a professional athlete as other badminton players.

Besides frequently winning the most women’s singles championships in super badminton tournaments (super 500 and above), and holding the record for the highest points in the Women’s Singles World Badminton Federation (BWF), she also holds a doctorate.

She is Tai Tzu-ying from Taiwan who is currently ranked number one in the world in terms of points.

The achievement of this badminton player who was born on June 20, 1994, began when she was still in the third grade of elementary school.

Her father, who likes to play badminton in his spare time, made Tzu-ying and her younger daughter close to this sport.

Badminton for her is not just a game in his spare time, because when he was a 6th grader, Tzu-ying had already won the second group title of the National Taiwan Badminton Tournament.

Furthermore, Tzu-ying did not wait long to make another achievement.

At the age of 15 she started participating in international championships, then strengthened the Taiwan Olympic team for the first time at the age of 18 and won the Super Tournament champion for the first time in her career.

With these achievements, Tzu-ying was nicknamed the “girl genius”.

Her most impressive style of play is the various “tricky” moves on the court that often make her opponents run in the wrong directions or fall into silence so that her rival doesn’t have time to save the shuttlecock.

However, Tzu-ying’s style was considered informal, so many coaches tried to improve her style.

However, Tzu-ying maintained this way of playing, and argued that players did not always have to follow a predetermined pattern. Hence, she is also dubbed “master of tricks” and “field magician”.

At the height of Tzu-ying’s international career, she has also experienced frustration and blamed herself for losing.

However, this did not make her drift away in sadness, because she continued to hone her skills by witnessing her performance when fighting on the field.

For Tai Tzu-ying, the biggest enemy was not the opponent on the other side of the net, but herself.

In 2018, she represented Taiwan at the Asian Games held in Indonesia and won the first badminton gold medal in Taiwan’s Asian Games history in the Women’s Singles.

In 2019, Tzu-ying matched the record 20 Super Tournament champions won by Chinese women’s player Wang Yihan, winning the women’s singles championship at the 2020 All England Badminton Open for the third time.

In addition to scoring the most records (21 champions) for the Super Tournament for the Women’s Singles, in the following week’s points collection, Tzu-ying outperformed China’s Chen Yufei, who is five times in the top rank of the world badminton, and to date leads the BWF Women’s Singles by winning the highest point.

Tai Tzu-ying had visited Indonesia many times to compete, and was very impressed by the cheers from the fans in the country.

She also did not hesitate to return the waves of the spectators who were excited to see her in action on the court.
