Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has adopted a new system of university that has received approval from King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz.
Saudi Minister of Education Dr. Hamad Bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh said in a statement to the Saudi News Agency (SPA) that the new system would improve the quality of Saudi universities and contribute to the development of the education and research process.
The system will also help improve spending efficiency and develop university financial resources and human capabilities that are in line with the Kingdom’s vision 2030.
Minister Hamad explained that the system will begin to be implemented in stages at three universities as an initial stage with a transition period of one year from the project implementation date.
According to him, the New System allows universities to activate their own resources, create endowment funds and establish companies, open specializations and programs, shape their leadership based on efficiency.
With this new system, Saudi universities are expected to increase their output in response to the needs of the labor market, in addition to creating employment opportunities for the community.
The new system also allows the opening of branches of foreign universities within Saudi Arabia in accordance with special regulations to increase competitiveness in improving the efficiency of the University’s Education System.
