Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Muslim World League agree to combat islamophobia

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Muslim World League (MWL) agree to combat islamophobia by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU), according to Arab News.

The MoU was signed by OIC Secretary-General Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen and MWL Secretary-General Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Friday (Sep 4).

The MoU aims to achieve common goals in a number of areas, most notably combating radicalism, extremism and Islamophobia.

The two Islamic organization also agree on supporting the values of dialogue and tolerance, as well as introducing the right values of Islam, which are based on moderation, coexistence and respect for others’ culture.
