Bogor, W Java (Indonesia Window) – Being inspired by a Muslim halal tourism festival in Doha, Qatar, several years ago, Yasuharu Inoue, Chief Executive Officer of Yasu Project, for the first time visited the capital city of Qatar for a Muslim halal tourism festival, where many people including Japanese did research on halal food.

That time not many Japanese people know how to pray five times a day according to the Islam teachings, Yasuharu Inoue told Indonesia Window at an event promoting his company Yasu Project, a builder of mobile masjid (mosque), from Japan, in Indonesia’s capital Jakarta on Wednesday (April 16).

In his country, there was a Tokyo tournament to which he sent a proposal about making a masjid, but unfortunately due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the proposal was cancelled as no audience came to the event.

However, many of his Muslim friends in Indonesia, Malaysia, Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, suggested that he proceed with making mobile masjid projects.

Inoue said he would return to Indonesia as soon as possible to send a proposal to make a mobile masjid project.

According to him, building a mobile masjid is expensive but he promised to make such a mosque in Indonesia including in Jakarta cheaper.

The mobile masjid has a maximum width of 48 square meters and is secured by widening both sides, creating an area that does not seem like a vehicle.

All the vehicle’s operations are done automatically with the push of a button, making installation very easy, with expansion time about five minutes.

Since it is equipped with a generator (10KVA), electric products such as air conditioners can operate even in places where there is no power supply. Equipped with four air conditioners, people can spend a comfortable time indoors.

In addition, the paint applied to the outer wall of the vehicle is modified to a general architectural paint on the ceiling that has a highly functional effect such as heat insulation and heat shielding.

To promote, his mobile masjid project, he was also interested to take part in such Muslim exhibitions in Indonesia as an annual Muslim LifeFest.

Currently, Yasu Project has only one mobile mosque, but the company plans to manufacture more according to the global needs.

Since 2018, Yasu Project’s mobile masjid has been operating in a number of international events, such as World Cup in Russia and Asian Games in Indonesia in 2018, as well as France’s Olympic and Paralympic Games and Poland’s World’s Fair in 2024.

This mobile mosque is currently waiting in Japan’s Kanto region (about 114km to the north of Tokyo). For those who wish to rent the mobile mosque can directly contact the company.
