King Salman fires officers linked to defense ministry over corruption charges

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Saudi leader King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued a royal order late Monday (Aug 31), firing high-ranking officials, including Commander of the Joint Forces Fahd Bin Turki Bin Abdulaziz and the Deputy Prince of Al-Jouf region, Abdulaziz Bin Fahad Bin Turki Bin Abdulaziz, over corruption charges.

All of them have been relieved of their duties, and their corruption cases linked to the Ministry of Defense have been referred to Saudi Arabia’s Control and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), the Saudi Gazette reported.

Lt. Gen. Mutlaq Bin Salem bin Mutlaq Al-Azima, the deputy chief of the General Staff, has been assigned to carry out the work of the joint forces commander.

Other officials whose cases have been referred to Nazaha are Yusuf Bin Rakan Bin Hindi Al-Otaibi, Muhammad Bin Abdul Karim Bin Muhammad Al-Hassan, Faisal Bin Abdulrahman Bin Muhammad Al-Ajlan and Muhammad Bin Ali Bin Muhammad Al-Khalifa.
