Pertamina has again adjusted fuel prices, applying to Pertamax Turbo which is now 14,950 rupiahs (about 0.98 U.S. dollars) per liter from the previous 15,900 rupiahs (about 1.04 dollars) per liter, and Pertamax to 13,900 rupiahs (about 0.91 dollars) per liter from 14,500 rupiahs (about 0.95 dollars) per liter.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Pertamina Patra Niaga, Subholding Commercial & Trading of Indonesia’s oil and gas company PT Pertamina again adjusted the selling prices of general fuel types or non-subsidized fuel, namely Pertamax (RON 92), Pertamax Turbo (RON 98), diesel oil Dexlite (CN 51), and Perta Dex (CN 53).
In a written statement here on Saturday, Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Corporate Secretary, Irto Ginting, stated that the price of non-subsidized fuel would continue to be adjusted following the trend of the average price of oil publications, namely the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS) or Argus.
The price adjustment applies to Pertamax Turbo which is now 14,950 rupiahs (about 0.98 U.S. dollars) per liter from the previous 15,900 rupiahs (about 1.04 dollars) per liter, and Pertamax to 13,900 rupiahs (about 0.91 dollars) per liter from 14,500 rupiahs (about 0.95 dollars) per liter.
Meanwhile, the price of Dexlite rose from 17,100 rupiahs (some 1.12 dollars) per liter to 17,800 rupiahs (some 1.16 dollars) per liter, and Perta Dex increased from 17,400 rupiahs (some 1.14 dollars) per liter to 18,100 rupiahs (1.18 dollars) per liter.
This fuel price adjustment takes effect as of Oct. 1, 2022.
“We will continue to conduct evaluations and price adjustments for non-subsidized fuel on a monthly basis. Based on calculations, in the last September period, gasoline (petrol) products, namely the Pertamax Series, experienced a downward price adjustment, while the prices of Dexlite and Perta Dex gasoil (diesel) products increased. All price adjustments take effect as of October 1,” Irto explained.
The new prices apply to provinces with a motor vehicle fuel tax of 5 percent, such as in the country’s capital Jakarta.
“All of these new prices are in accordance with the pricing stipulated in the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree No. 62/K/12/MEM/2020 regarding the formulation of the selling prices of general fuel types or non-subsidized fuel,” he added.
According to him, Pertamina also continues to be committed to providing products with guaranteed quality at competitive prices throughout Indonesia.
He pointed out that the difference in price adjustments for Pertamax Series and Dex Series products was caused by global energy conditions, one of which was geopolitics in Eastern Europe.
This condition causes high demands for gas fuel products worldwide, and one of the substitutes for gas fuel products is diesel fuel, the price of which refers to the MOPS Kerosene, he added.
“The MOPS Kerosene is a price reference for diesel raw materials. High demands and limited raw materials keep prices high, despite the downward trend in world oil prices,” Irto noted.
