Indonesian president inaugurates new ministers, deputy ministers

Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated two new ministers and three new deputy ministers at the State Palace in capital Jakarta on Wednesday (June 15, 2022). (The Indonesian Cabinet Secretariat)

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo has inaugurated two new ministers and three new deputy ministers who will assist in his administration with Vice President Ma’ruf Amin.

The inauguration was held at the State Palace in capital Jakarta on Wednesday, during the remaining term of office of President Widodo for the 2019-2024 period.

The inauguration was carried out based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 64/P of 2022 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of State Ministers of the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet for the Period of 2019-2024, the Cabinet Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia said in a statement on Wednesday.

The two ministers who were appointed were Zulkifli Hasan as Minister of Trade and Hadi Tjahjanto as Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning (ATR)/Head of the National Land Agency (BPN).

Meanwhile, the deputy ministers for the remaining term of office for the 2019-2024 period were inaugurated based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 24/M of 2022 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Deputy State Ministers for the Period of 2019-2024.

The three deputy ministers appointed are Wempi Wetipo as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Afriansyah Noor as Deputy Minister of Manpower, and Raja Juli Antoni as Deputy Minister of ATR/Deputy Head of BPN.
