HHT (House of Handicraft in Tokyo) will soon be opened, and will become a joint office for Indonesian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – HHT (the House of Handicraft in Tokyo) will soon be opened in the capital city of Japan, and will become a joint office for Indonesian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Land of the Rising Sun, with the target of penetrating the global market.

“The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Tokyo fully supports this HHT program which will become a center of Indonesian SMEs, especially for those doing handicraft business in Indonesia, and they can have a joint office in Japan,” said Richard Susilo, President of Office Promosi Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, by phone on Tuesday morning.

With this office, Indonesian SMEs can write down their own Japanese representative office on their business cards with the Japanese address and telephone numbers of that country.

“Especially the Japanese people would find it easier to reach SMEs that have offices in Japan. Generally, Japanese people are reluctant to do business with people outside Japan,” Richard explained.

If there is an Indonesian SME office in Japan, people in that country would be happy to contact and conduct business transactions, and if anything happens they would easily contact the office, he added.

The tenants of the joint office are mainly the participants of the Indonesian Handicraft exhibition, who will participate in the Gift Show on September 4-6, 2024 in Tokyo. The exhibition is expected to be attended by more than one million visitors.

According to him, people of the world (international community) would know the SMEs’ office address in Japan, meaning it would be very easy to market their products to the world market through Japan.

“Besides Japan, international business people who do business with us will definitely be very happy to come to Japan and enjoy the beauty of the Land of Sakura in addition to doing business transactions in Japan,” he said.

HHT

Richard pointed out that HHT in Tokyo provides several benefits, like being easily recognized by many people, especially international business people.

The rental price for Indonesian SMEs is also not expensive if their number can reach 40 and they have an office in Japan, as they only pay around one million rupiahs per month each.

“Our products can be marketed in Japan for 24 hours a day. The office on the first floor with transparent glass doors allows people passing by to see our products at any time. The products will also be showcased in turn every time so that guests or those who see them do not get bored with the variety of Indonesia-made products in Japan,” he noted.

So the office is not only for selling products made in Indonesia, but can also be used as a place for business transaction meetings, seminars and other activities, he said.

The opportunity to have an office with HHT is open at a special price until the end of September 2024 for Indonesian SMEs. After that, the rental price will be increased to the general market price in Tokyo.

“There are many benefits by having an office with Indonesian SMEs in Japan and this is a golden opportunity that Indonesian SMEs can take advantage of wherever they are,” Richard said.
