Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian government has set a one day-quarantine period for umrah pilgrims and international travelers.

The policy has been effective as of Tuesday (March 8) with the latest circular from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto told an online press conference here on Monday (Marc 7).

Umrah pilgrims and international travelers who are found positive for COVID-19 will be immediately isolated.

So far, the Indonesian government has recorded that the average number of positive COVID-19 cases detected among umrah pilgrims is 47 percent.

Airlangga hoped that people would always comply with health protocols and use the PeduliLindung application, while the government continues to push the second doses of vaccination to reach the national target.
